We like to keep you updated about what your sponsored child and other kids in the program have been up to over the past year… all because of your compassionate giving. And even though the world is a little different now than it was a few weeks ago because of the coronavirus, we were able to get this report of how your child has been doing since Christmas and knew you would want to hear it.

A Christmas and New Year celebration

Your sponsored child celebrated Christmas and New Year’s at a special end-of-year party. Everyone gathered together for the celebration, including many of the children’s parents. In fact, the room was so packed that some of the parents had to stand outside and watch through the doorway. A big part of the celebration was a talent show put on by many of the kids themselves. Some children sang and danced. Others recited or read passages they had been working on. The parents loved every minute, and the children had a wonderful time.

During the celebration, the kids also celebrated their friends who had birthdays that month. The birthday boys and girls got to split a delicious chocolate cake and blow out the candles. The teachers put in a lot of hard work to make this day special for the children, and they were ready to relax by the end of it. It was all worth it, though, because the children, parents, and staff were smiling the entire day. It was definitely a day they won’t forget!

Day-to-day blessings

All of the children are safe have not been directly affected by the virus. However, they have seen a lot of daily changes similar to what we are seeing in America. Schools were closed down in March and everyone advised to “social distance.” Please continue to keep your sponsored child in your prayers during this time.
