Golu is an active young boy who loves to play games with other boys in his area. Unfortunately, he becomes sick easily and is not always strong enough to play with them. Golu dreams of going to school and becoming a doctor so he can take care of other sick people. Golu lives in a crowded slum where poverty and disease are part of life. The traditional caste system limits Golu?s family to working as snake charmers and street performers. However, these sideshow acts are not profitable, and his parents must often resort to begging just to survive. Sponsorship now gives Golu access to things like medical care, nutritious food, and educational assistance.
