Aarti is fairly quiet and reserved when she first meets people, but her close friends know her as an energetic, fun-loving girl. She enjoys playing games like soccer and tag and spending time with her older siblings. Aarti says she wants to be a doctor when she grows up so she can help sick people feel better. Aarti has experienced the effects of poverty her entire life. Although her parents work long hours as laborers in their community, their small wages are barely enough to cover the expenses of their four children. Sponsorship now gives Aarti access to things like medical care, nutritious food, and educational assistance.
