Babu is an energetic boy who loves to play games with his friends whenever possible. Although he has not had the opportunity to go to school yet, he looks forward to gaining an education and bettering his future. When he grows up, Babu wants to become a firefighter. Babu lives in an overcrowded settlement of snack charmers and street performers where poverty and disease are part of life. Sideshow acts are no longer profitable, so his parents must often resort to begging or working hard labor jobs just to survive. Sponsorship now gives Babu access to things like medical care, nutritious food, and educational assistance.
